“Henry Speed & family homestead ca 1902” is a picture of Henry Andrew Lewis Speed and his wife, Lucy Florence Abbott with their family at the homestead near Cordell, Oklahoma. The photograph was taken circa 1902. This picture was taken shortly before they sold the homestead and moved to Clarendon, Texas where the family did some farming and entered into the construction business. Everyone is buried in Clarendon at the Citizens Cemetery. Those in the picture are (from left to right) Charles Griffin Speed, Edward Lewis Speed, seated, Lucy Catherine Wallace who was called “Granny Mac” since her last of three husbands was a McFarland, Henry Andrew Lewis Speed, seated, Lucy Florence Abbott (Granny Mac’s daughter), Esther Catherine Speed, Mable Florence Speed, and Mary Bulah Speed.
